About Madras University Distance Education
In the year 1981 to help people who can't attend regular classes, University of Madras setup Institute of Distance Education.Currently the Institute is offering total 78 courses: 22 Undergraduate Courses, 14 Postgraduate Courses, 9 Postgraduate Science Courses, 5 Professional Courses, 16 Diploma Courses and 12 Certificate Courses. Student seeking admission into these courses can take admission throughout the year.Currently IDE is serving distance education through more the 60 National & International study centers. More than 1.6 lakh students has been enrolled into these courses till date.
